Ann Arbor: Our Favorites

Here is “Our Favorites” list of things to do in Ann Arbor. We’ve been here for a few months now and have hit some of the best sights. There is a lot to do in this city so by all means feel free to comment with things we might have missed. Thanks!

  1. Afternoon Delight – Best breakfast food!
  2. Farmers’ Market – local farms bring produce and delicious snacks
  3. Seva – the best place in Ann Arbor for vegetarian cuisine, BEST sweet potatoe fries ever!
  4. Potbelly Sandwich Shop – we both love their cheap, quality sandwiches
  5. Spin the Cube – MUST do at U of M! (Alex’s favorite) at the Fleming Administration Building, find it on the map!
  6. Planet Rock – we also love rock climbing!
  7. Miki Japanese Restaurant – always amazing sushi for a great price
  8. Cafe Verde – part of the People’s Food Co-op, great sandwiches and coffee
  9. Zingerman’s Deli or Roadhouse – great sandwiches and pastries
  10. Nichols Arboretum & Matthaei Botanical Gardens – stroll through nature right near campus in the middle of the city
  11. Bar Louie – Best Long Island in Ann Arbor (recommended by Jenna Hill)
  12. Gallup Park Canoe Livery – canoeing on the beautiful Huron River
  13. Arbor Brewing Company (ABC) Pub – Michigan made microbrews and good food
  14. Michigan Theatre – independent, obscure, and art films
  15. Biggby Coffee – great Michigan business to get Michigan coffee
  16. University of Michigan Diag – step on the big letter “M” in front of the Library
  17. University of Michigan Museum of Art (UMMA) – very nice student and professional art work (for any art lovers out there)
  18. Grizzly Peak Brewing Company – burgers of all kinds and handcrafted beers
